The purpose of course is to:

Create an understanding of radio communications within the statewide digital trunked radio system (WyoLink)

Create an understanding of communication procedures that insure consistent, clear radio communication for routine operation and effective standardized emergency incident communications

Create an understanding of communications Interoperability

Give the student a working knowledge of scanning on WyoLink
-
Create an understanding of agency talkgroups and how they are used within the statewide digital trunked radio system (WyoLink)
- Give the student a working knowledge of mobile and portable trunking radio features
Learning objective:
After the completion of this class, the student will have the knowledge to effectively operate a trunking radio within the statewide digital trunked radio system (WyoLink), observing the procedures and protocols outlined in the Wyolink Handbook.
Course structure - This course will be taught in five phases
Administration - 10 Minutes
Classroom lectures and instructor led discussions – 2 Hours
Scenario based practical exercises with trunking radios - 50 Minutes
Post test -20 Minutes
Class evaluation –10 Minutes
Total class Hours - 3 hours / 30 minutes
Target Audience
Any first responder: public safety, public health employee or volunteer whose agencies will have a need to operate a digital trunked radio in statewide digital trunked radio system (WyoLink).
Note: If you have WyoLink compatible trunking radios please bring them with you to the class.

About us:
Working together with the Wyoming Office of Homeland Security, the Wyoming Law Enforcement Academy operates the Wyoming Homeland Security Training program. The program is responsible for the facilitation of training management for all U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and FEMA training programs in Wyoming.
This program also maintains the Wyoming First Responder Training database and collects training records for all recognized first responder disciplines to maintain a current resource of responders. From the training database, qualified first responders are issued the Wyoming First Responder Identification card.
